The 10 Best AEO Tools in 2026 for Tracking and Improving AI Visibility
More B2B buyers now start their research in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini or Claude instead of a search results page. They ask for a shortlist, read the answer and visit two or three of the names it gives. If your company isn’t in that answer, you never reach the shortlist.
Answer engine optimization (AEO) tools show where you stand. They run the questions your buyers ask, record whether you are named, how you are described and which pages are cited, and compare you with competitors. The better ones also tell you what to change.
Disclosure: Allsite designed and built Echo’s website and product, and we use Echo to track our own AI visibility and our clients’. Echo is first on this list. We think that holds up against the criteria below, and we explain why. Every other tool is described from what it publishes on its own website, with no prices and no claims we can’t back up. No tool paid to be here. Checked on 4 November 2026; this market changes monthly, so check each tool’s site too.
How we judged them
We do SEO and AEO work for AI, fintech and software companies, so we judged every tool on what that work needs:
- Engines. Does it cover ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude, plus Google’s AI Overviews and AI Mode?
- Your prompts, your markets. Can you track the exact questions your buyers ask, on a schedule, in the countries and languages you sell in?
- Evidence. Can you see the full answer, where you rank in it, the sentence that describes you and every page cited?
- Competitors. Are competitors measured on the same prompts, so share of voice is a fair comparison?
- From finding to fix. Does it say what to change, and check whether the change worked?
- Results. Does it connect AI visibility to visits, leads and pipeline?

1. Echo — the best AEO tool overall
Best for: marketing teams at tech and software companies that want one tool to measure AI visibility and do the work that improves it.
Echo meets all six criteria. Most tools on this list are strong at measuring; Echo is built around what you do next.
Engines. Echo runs your prompts on ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Grok, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode. You choose daily or weekly checks per assistant.
Your prompts and evidence. You track the questions your buyers ask, in the markets you sell in. Echo keeps the full answers, so every visibility score, position, sentiment and citation traces back to a real sentence and a real cited page. You can import existing prompts from Peec AI and Profound.
Competitors. Competitors are measured on the same prompts, with share of voice, citation gaps (pages that cite them but not you) and mentions across the web.
From finding to fix. Each finding becomes an action with its evidence, an owner, a due date and a before-and-after comparison: a page to build, a wrong fact to correct, a site to get mentioned on. FactCheck flags what assistants get wrong about you. Echo drafts content in your brand voice and can place drafts in Framer for a person to review and publish.
Results. Echo tracks AI crawler visits and AI referral traffic, through its own tag or Google Analytics, and connects them to leads and deals in HubSpot or Attio. It labels this as attribution, not proof of cause.
Getting started. A free AI score shows how ready your site is before you sign up, and paid plans come with a 14-day free trial.
Consider another option if: you only want a lightweight monitor for a handful of prompts, or you are a consumer brand; Echo is built for B2B marketing teams and agencies.
2. Profound
Best for: large brands with a dedicated budget and a team to act on detailed AI search data.
Profound tracks how ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, DeepSeek and Google AI Overviews describe a brand, with sentiment, citation analysis and prompt volumes that estimate what people ask. Agent Analytics shows how AI crawlers use your site, and its AI Marketer drafts content for approval. Its site names customers such as Ramp, Plaid, MongoDB and Zoom.
It is one of the most complete data sets in the category and is priced for enterprises.
3. Peec AI
Best for: teams that want clear, fast tracking and will plan the fixes themselves.
Peec AI tracks visibility, position and sentiment for your chosen prompts across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and AI Mode, with source discovery and competitor comparison. It suggests prompts with search volumes, and offers CSV exports, a Looker Studio connector, an API and an MCP server.
Setup is quick and the interface is easy to read, which makes it a popular first serious tracker.
4. Searchable
Best for: teams that want tracking, content and technical audits in one product.
Searchable tracks brand mentions and citations across ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Copilot. An AI agent turns the data into recommendations, a content engine writes pages and posts aimed at being cited, and technical audits check schema, content structure and crawlability.
It covers a wide range, from e-commerce and local businesses to B2B software and agencies.
5. Scrunch
Best for: brands whose websites are hard for AI crawlers and agents to read.
Scrunch monitors prompts, topics and competitors across major assistants, with citation analysis, a live feed of AI bot crawls and crawl error detection. Its Agent Experience Platform (AXP) serves a lightweight, machine-readable version of your site to AI agents, while people keep seeing the normal design.
That makes it useful for script-heavy sites, where AI crawlers miss content.
6. AthenaHQ
Best for: teams that want wide engine coverage and recommendations next to their tracking.
AthenaHQ tracks visibility across up to 11 models on paid plans, including ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Grok, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode. Ask Athena answers questions about your own data, and its content module recommends on-page and off-page actions. It connects to GA4, Search Console and Shopify.
7. Otterly.AI
Best for: marketers testing whether AI visibility matters for them before a bigger budget.
Otterly.AI is a simple way to start: add prompts, see mentions, cited links and competitors across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini and Copilot. It adds prompt research, content audits with GEO recommendations, agent analytics and an API.
8. Ahrefs Brand Radar
Best for: category research and competitive discovery, especially for existing Ahrefs users.
Brand Radar measures AI share of voice against competitors in two ways: your own custom prompts, and an AI visibility index of hundreds of millions of prompts built from Ahrefs’ keyword data. It covers AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot, and also tracks YouTube, TikTok and Reddit as sources that shape AI answers.
The large index is good for spotting gaps across a category. For tracking the exact questions your buyers ask, pair it with a prompt-based tool.
9. Semrush AI Toolkit
Best for: teams already on Semrush that want a first view of AI search.
Semrush adds AI visibility to its SEO suite: visibility overview, competitor and prompt research, brand perception and narrative drivers, prompt tracking and content creation, next to its site audit. Having SEO and AI data in one place is convenient. Prompt control and answer-level evidence are less central than in dedicated tools.
10. Rankscale
Best for: agencies, multi-brand teams and one-off AI visibility audits.
Rankscale tracks more than 17 engines, including ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, Copilot, DeepSeek, Mistral and Grok. It reports visibility, rankings, sentiment and citations, and adds query fan-out analysis and page audits with over 90 technical checks.
How to choose
- You want one tool that measures and drives the work: Echo.
- You are an enterprise brand with a team to act on data: Profound.
- You want clean tracking and will plan fixes yourself: Peec AI or Otterly.AI.
- Your site is hard for AI crawlers to read: Scrunch, and fix the site itself.
- You already pay for an SEO suite: start with Ahrefs Brand Radar or Semrush, then add a prompt tracker if AI visibility matters.
Whatever you pick, start with 30 to 50 prompts your buyers actually ask, written the way they would ask them, and include your top three competitors. Review the cited pages first: they show which sites you need to be on and which of your pages need to answer the question better.
A tool shows the gap. The website closes it.
AEO tools tell you which questions you are missing and which pages AI assistants cite instead of yours. Closing the gap is mostly website and content work: clear pages that answer the question directly, structured data, fast pages AI crawlers can read, and mentions on the sites assistants trust.
That is what our SEO and AEO service does for AI, fintech and software companies, usually alongside a website build or migration. To see where your site stands now, run the free AEO Scanner or Website Score, or request a project.
